No one in Mexico celebrates Cinco de mayo…
just idiots here in the good ol US…because we are not very sharp or well read…Cinco De Mayo is NOT the celebration of Mexican independence. It is the celebration of the Battle of Puebla.
Just so y’all know…you are celebrating a war. And Corona got in on the deal to make money…pretty much manufactured a holiday to celebrate their crappy beer.
The only area of Mexico that cares about May 5..is Puebla cuz they won a battle against the French…but they didn’t even really win because they lost again later…so who the fuck knows what everyone is celebrating except the novelty of drinking alcohol.
People in Mexico don’t celebrate Cinco De Mayo but drones of idiots here in America celebrate it with vim and vigor having no idea why other than the ingestion of refreshing cocktails.
Mexican independence day is September 16…unless you are a war monger…then go ahead and celebrate a war that Mexico ultimately lost (after they won) to the French. George Bush would be proud.
